As Southern Lead and Principal Structural Engineer at Collective Consulting, Alex brings over +16 years of international experience across multidisciplinary and specialist consultancy environments, with a career spanning Australia, the Pacific, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, and the USA.
Alex built his career across some of the world's most technically demanding projects, developing a specialist expertise in complex, architecturally driven structures — particularly complex steel and multistorey construction. His broader skills span reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, timber, and masonry structures, and he is widely recognised for producing slender, efficient structural solutions that integrate seamlessly within both new builds and existing environments.
Alex has established a strong presence in the Tasmanian market, leading the structural delivery of several landmark Tasmanian projects including the MONA House of Kiefer, Royal Hobart Hospital Emergency Department Expansion, Mövenpick Hotel Hobart, and Hobart Airport Terminal Expansion. His international portfolio includes such developments as the iconic Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, built for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the Avenues Shopping Centre in Kuwait.
Outside of work, Alex can be found in or on the water — whether surfing, diving, or out on the boat — or enjoying a day at the beach with the family.
